Reporting to the COO, the VP of Product will be responsible for delivering a vision that positions our brand as the world’s preeminent travel clothing company. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance our current product lines while innovating new products that embody our brand ethos of simplicity, style, and timelessness. Leading a small team, the VP of Product must communicate effectively and foster an environment of honesty and independent thought. In this remote position, we are seeking a self-driven individual who prioritizes tangible results, employs a methodical approach to leadership, and can inspire their team to deliver the highest quality products on schedule.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Product Leadership & GTM
- Work with product and marketing teams to develop product lines and roadmaps that align with business goals from ideation to stage-gate development, to in-market launch
- Develop and execute a multi-year innovation and product line plan that supports the company’s overall growth, informed by market and consumer trends. Coordinate and communicate with executive leadership on vision, roadmap, and execution
- Ensure all product launches are delivered on time, and within scope and budget
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of new product launches, time to market, departmental performance and to track progress against goals
- Ensure all tracking systems and projects are kept up to date and accurate
Product Development & Innovation
- Drive brand vision and company performance through disruptive innovation and product line expansion
- Establish and manage mechanisms for collecting feedback from customers, internal teams, and stakeholders regarding product performance and satisfaction
- Define product requirements and collaborate with product designers and production staff to plan and deliver new product features and identify trends
- Implement an iterative development process that allows for continuous improvement and quick adjustments based on user feedback
- Conduct post-release evaluations to determine the impact of implemented changes on user satisfaction and business outcomes and share these results and suggestions with leadership
- Produce reports to determine product success and uncover insights for future developments to aid the product development team
- Stay up to date on new areas for manufacturing and changes in import laws for duties/tariffs
- Ensure products meet quality standards and margin targets
- Manage the product development budget to track financial performance. Lead cost reduction management of existing products, product lifecycle management, and sunsetting strategies
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of product creation experience with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a dynamic fast-growth environment in the apparel, fashion, or performance outdoor category
- Experience in technical/performance wear is preferred
- 5-7 years of leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team, consistently setting high expectations and holding team members accountable
- Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering high-quality products and user experiences.
- Process-driven with focus on efficiency and effectiveness. Experience building a product creation process
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic and non-corporate work environment, regularly taking on new challenges and responsibilities with enthusiasm
- Proven success with collaborative NPD process development work
- Candid and willing to challenge the status quo. Brainstorm and push back with team members and Founders
- Experience working with Merino wool is preferable, but not required

This role is remote within the US and Canada
COMPENSATION
Base salary range starts at $200k-225k commensurate with experience and location
