eCommerce Manager

Reporting to the Head of Sales, the eCommerce Manager will lead and drive the continued growth of the organizations direct-to-consumer (DTC) digital business. We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to oversee revenue, profitability, and customer engagement across all U.S. eCommerce channels. This critical role owns the eCommerce P&L, develops and executes the digital growth strategy for the U.S., and optimizes every aspect of the online shopping experience—from digital marketing and merchandising to customer acquisition and website performance. The ideal candidate combines tactical execution with strategic vision and possesses a strong background in digital commerce, marketing, and analytics. They will lead a small but high-performing team, collaborate with global and cross-functional partners, and manage key agency relationships to accelerate growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires innovation, data-driven decision-making, and a relentless focus on enhancing the customer experience.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

E-Commerce Strategy & Performance

  • Develop the multi-year digital growth plan and a long-term e-commerce vision to achieve sales targets and brand performance.
  • Owns the e-commerce P&L, develops annual budgets, and oversees all online revenue streams.
  • Defines and executes e-commerce strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work collaboratively with global e-commerce team on global projects implementation to US market. Drive US market specific platforms and optimizations.
  • Lead and mentor eCommerce specialist, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

Marketing & Digital Strategy

  • Paid Media: Manage external digital marketing partners. Maximize ROI across all paid channels (paid search, paid social, display, affiliate) while testing new acquisition channels. Grow profitable full funnel customer acquisition.
  • Oversee email marketing, driving customer engagement. Design and optimize commercial and promotional email campaigns. Optimize email flows (sign-ups and list growth, welcome series, abandon cart, post purchase, etc.)
  • Partners with merchandising, trade marketing, and brand teams to develop product, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Works with marketing teams to implement a cohesive omnichannel strategy across website, mobile, and digital advertising platforms.

 

Website Management & Optimization

  • Oversees site performance, usability, and customer experience, ensuring a seamless shopping journey.
  • Manages product presentation, ensuring effective categorization, descriptions, imagery, and inventory hierarchy.
  • Leads ongoing website improvements, working with IT and third-party vendors to enhance UX, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and site speed.

 

Analytics & Business Insights

  • Analytics: manage digital marketing analytics and dashboarding, reporting product, traffic, and KPI trends. Ensure that KPIs are being met or exceeded (net revenue, traffic, conversion, AOV, CAC)
  • Conducts data-driven analysis, utilizing web analytics, customer insights, and competitor benchmarking to optimize e-commerce strategies.
  • Monitors and reports on KPIs such as sales, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and return on investment (ROI).
  • Uses insights to refine digital marketing campaigns and drive personalized customer experiences.

 

Merchandising & Inventory Management

  • Develops an online buy plan in collaboration with the merchandising team to optimize product assortment and profitability.
  • Executes markdown strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining healthy inventory levels.
  • Forecast key product categories and collections: Strategically manage and forecast website specific inventory, adjust as needed for changes in demand.
  • Optimize order shipping and flow, as well as fraud detection and rules.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, E-Commerce, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, and merchandising within a consumer goods or sporting goods industry.
  • Proven track record in P&L management, budget oversight, and revenue growth within an e-commerce environment.
  • Expertise in CMS platforms (preferably Magento), site management, and online merchandising.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, paid media, email marketing, social media, and affiliate programs.
  • Experience with data analytics, customer insights, and ROI-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
