Chief Operating Officer

Reporting to the founders, the Chief Operating Officer is a critical role to support the company’s next phase of growth and maturity. The COO will serve as a thought partner, strategic driver, and shepherd of day-to-day operations of the business. The COO will understand brand, structure, operations, process, and strategy while building cross functional disciplines across teams. The COO is a strong generalist and familiar with multiple aspects of operations including finance, marketing, supply chain, inventory, fulfillment, and customer service.

 

Accountabilities

  • Drive and steer day-to-day operations of the company
  • Ownership of P&L and financial reporting
  • Partner with Founders to develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with brand vision
  • Directly oversee key functional areas and leaders including Marketing, Inventory, Technology, HR, Sales (ecommerce, retail, and wholesale) and Operations (customer service & wholesale)
  • Implement metrics and reporting framework to ensure delivery of company revenue/initiatives
  • Partner with Founders to develop a long-term annual growth plan/budget for the company
  • Connect the company and cross functional teams across all aspects of the business
  • Key partner in activating brand vision, culture, and operations, bringing the company to life
  • Drive and communicate org design/structure, including clarity of reporting and career pathing
  • Continue to evolve the organization and leaders as the company scales
  • Solidify and instill company values into all aspects of decision making and operations
  • Coach and mentor direct reports and entry level team members
  • Manage and deliver results in wholesale and DTC revenue channels
  • Coordinate cross functionally to adjust and execute strategies and operational tactics
  • Create balanced/optimal processes to support company at various stages of growth

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Finance, Product, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with 5-7 years of experience leading DTC businesses
  • Demonstrated track record of success growing and scaling a DTC/Wholesale environment
  • Proven ability to build and scale teams and processes required for different phases of growth
  • Expertise with ecommerce and D2C functions including brand, performance marketing, technology, customer service and fulfillment
  • Strong communicator with the ability to operate in ambiguity and provide clarity
  • Strategic, data driven, and critical thinker
  • As a leader of the organization, operate with the highest respect and integrity
  • Travel required 10%

  • This is an on-site leadership position based in Watkinsville, GA. (Athens)
