Director of Growth

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Growth will lead the DTC side of the business and will have full responsibility for our performance marketing strategy and all paid media results. We are looking for a world class paid media strategist and expert to drive awareness, engagement, customer acquisition and retention. This is a critical role, and the right candidate will be passionate about building and optimizing paid media to deliver a branded customer journey from first touch, first purchase, and repeat purchases while hitting critical metrics for revenue, MER, CAC, and LTV performance.

You must have 7-10 years’ experience in DTC performance marketing, understand the ins and outs of channel diversification, and have successfully managed 8+ figure marketing budgets alongside creative and media buying teams to align as one high-functioning force. The candidate must be innately driven and hungry to hit our key OKRs.



  • Structure and manage the performance marketing team, composed of both in-house and agency/contractors, appropriate and optimized for various marketing channels and needs.
  • Create overall performance marketing strategy, direction, and budget in alignment with cross functional partners in product, brand, finance, and operations.
  • Execute on KPI goals, report on performance, and clearly communicate priorities to manage team.
  • Proactively adjust course of action when things aren’t working.


  • Create a performance marketing strategy that connects the brand’s value proposition to its customers, a holistic customer journey, and the appropriate performance marketing channels.
  • Develop an annual budget for performance marketing goals in alignment with financial plan.
  • Be responsible for monthly DTC revenue and MER goals.
  • Define and operate all paid marketing and media channels (Meta, Google, YT, etc) to generate new customers at ROAS, CAC, and AOV goals. Open new channels as opportunities exist.
  • Define and operate all retention channels (Email, SMS, etc) to improve LTV and repeat repurchase rates while maintaining brand integrity (i.e. no virtual pollution / spam).
  • Perform day-to-day tactical operations when needed (i.e. optimizing campaign spends within Meta platform or uploading retention segments on Klaviyo).
  • Continuously and obsessively improve paid media channels to ensure that the business meets revenue and online growth goals.
  • Collaborate with brand team to continuously improve SEO and organic traffic.
  • Rigorously measure and report on KPIs (e.g., MER, CPA, AOV) on a weekly and monthly basis in support of growth goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the brand team to develop and optimize the marketing calendar, marketing channels, and creative brand assets to achieve both growth and brand goals.


  • Connect the growth marketing strategy to define and align on needs for creative assets.
  • Dictate creative needs for performance marketing channels based on its performance (i.e. more iterations on ad with high CTR, need an LP for this ad campaign, DPA template needs improvement, etc).
  • Ensure high-performing content for core paid media channels to hit KPI goals.


  • 7-10+ years of experience in e-commerce and D2C performance marketing.
  • Has helped scale a DTC business from $20M to $50M+ (or similar).
  • Experience and knowledge of managing paid media in a digitally native startup environment.
  • Experience managing multiple channels and deep knowledge in Meta and Google.
  • Strategic, data driven, critical thinker with a high attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator and manager.
  • Strong mathematical acumen with strategic leadership experience to achieve and clearly present financial results.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to be both a player and coach at a startup.



This role is remote pending a permanent HQ location.



Base salary range: $150-180K
